Once Upon a Scream… We’re Making Our Biggest Wish Yet!
For the past two Halloweens, the Cairns community has shown us what can happen when you mix a little Halloween chaos with a very good cause.
Our first Hallowish raised $10,000 for Make-A-Wish Australia.
Last year, you helped us raise $15,000 — and Life Sumo finished as the number one Hallowish fundraiser in Australia for the second year running.
So naturally, we’ve decided to make things harder for ourselves.
This year, we’re going for $25,000.
Our biggest Halloween.
Our biggest fundraising target.
And hopefully, our biggest impact yet.
Welcome to the Crooked Kingdom.
This Halloween, Life Sumo’s Once Upon a Scream is taking over Yorkeys Knob for two nights.
And happily ever after has gone slightly off-script.
The fairytales have fractured. The characters have gone rogue. The Crooked Kingdom has lost the plot.
There’ll be twisted storybook characters, trick-or-treating, kids activities, the Once Upon a Crime colouring competition, photo opportunities and plenty of things that probably shouldn’t be trusted after dark.

Behind all the chaos is one very important wish.
We love Halloween.
We love turning a perfectly normal house into something completely ridiculous.
But the reason we keep making it bigger isn’t the decorations.
It’s Make-A-Wish Australia.
Make-A-Wish creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses, giving kids and their families something incredible to look forward to during extraordinarily difficult times.
That’s the part that matters.
It’s why we build.
It’s why our community shows up.
And it’s why we’re asking Cairns to help us do something even bigger this year.
