The journey
Halloween brings out my inner kid, and I absolutely love doing something for the whole neighbourhood to enjoy.
I’m a little behind this year but I’ve managed to transform my yard with window projectors, inflatables, and a smoke machine.
The projectors are the centrepiece, casting ghostly images from inside the windows. After tweaking brightness and contrast, I synced creepy sound effects to a Google home, giving the house a haunted vibe.
I used smaller inflatables like mini ghosts and pumpkins to appeal to younger kids.
Positioned low, the smoke machine fills the yard with rolling fog, creating a graveyard feel.
Cobwebs, string lights, and a hidden speaker looping spooky sounds tied it all together. Testing this week will allow me to fine tune things.
Top Tips: Test everything, secure decorations, and focus on atmosphere.

This Halloween, let’s transform lives together through the Make-A-Wish Hallowish campaign.
Imagine, for a moment, the incredible joy a wish can bring to a sick child. For these kids, who often spend more days in hospitals than playgrounds, a wish is not just a treat; it’s a moment of magic, a break from pain, a spark of pure hope. When you donate, you’re not just giving money—you’re helping to create memories and experiences that can uplift and inspire them through the toughest battles.
Every single donation, big or small, goes directly towards making wishes come true for these incredible children. You can be the reason a child meets their hero, flies in a hot air balloon, or finally gets to experience the joy of being “just a kid” for a day.
Please, if you’re able, give generously to Make-A-Wish Hallowish. Let’s bring a little extra magic to kids who need it the most.
