How your fundraising helps

With more than 700 kids currently on a Wish Journey and thousands more diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, your fundraising helps create more wishes for children like Jazmyn.

Jazmyn, 7, suffers ongoing complications from childhood meningococcal and wished to be a mermaid.

“[Jazmyn] is still in lots of pain and needs medication every day, but the wish just changed things, it put a different spin on her life.”
Sarah, Jazmyn's Mum

Get inspired

"I held a cupcake stall at my daughters’ primary school and it was a huge success. We had so much fun baking together and the school really got behind us.

"People are already asking us to hold another Bake A Wish soon!"

Got a question?

We've come up with the answers to some commonly asked questions below.
Want to speak to someone instead? Contact us by calling 1800 032 260 or get in touch online.

How do I register to host a Bake A Wish event?

It’s easy as pie! Get started by registering.

Do I have to bake?

Not at all - it’s your event your way!

There's so many ways to do it:

  • Hold an afternoon tea at work and get everyone to bring a plate. Collect gold coins or better yet use your online page to collect donations
  • Create a list of baked goods to order and sell them to your friends
  • Hold a bake sale at your school, your children’s school or even your local community group and spread the good vibes
  • Host a dinner party and ask friends to donate $30 (or more!) to attend

When can I host a Bake A Wish?

You can host your Bake A Wish anytime! We’re promoting the campaign during February and March but if that doesn’t work for you feel free to pick a time that does!

How can I get a receipt?

Supporters who donate to your online fundraising page will automatically receive a receipt.

If you are collecting cash donations and would like to give your supporters a receipt, please collect their details and the total amount they donated and send it to us so we can generate a receipt for them.

Are donations to Bake A Wish tax deductible?

All donations over $2 are tax deductible.

What should I do about food allergies and food handling?

It's handy to know what ingredients have gone into your baking as some people may have allergies. Mark anything containing nuts, dairy, eggs and gluten and ensure food is prepared, handled and stored in a hygienic way.

For more information, we recommend checking out www.foodstandards.gov.au

Do I require a permit to sell baked goods?

Regulations vary in each State and Territory if you are holding an event outside your home or workplace. To check the legislation in your state please click on the relevant link below.
